IKCEST Silk Road Training Base Held the 60th “Training Programme for Silk Road Engineering Science and Technology Development”

2019年10月8日至10月13日, 由联合国教科文组织国际工程科技知识中心(简称“国际知识中心”、“IKCEST”)和西安交通大学主办,IKCEST丝路培训基地承办的第60期丝路工程科技发展专项培训在西安交通大学西部科技创新港举行,共有来自巴基斯坦、埃及、哈萨克斯坦等15个“一带一路”沿线国家的198名留学生参加了培训。

 

The 60th IKCEST Training Programme for Silk Road Engineering Science and Technology Development was held in the I-Harbor of Xi’an Jiaotong University from Oct 8th to 13rd, 2019. It was co-hosted by the International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology (shortened as “International Knowledge Centre”, “IKCEST”) under the Auspices of UNESCO and Xi’an Jiaotong University, and was organized by IKCEST Silk Road Training Base. 198 foreign students in Xi’an Jiaotong University registered for the workshop. They are from 15 Belt-Road countries such as Pakistan, Egypt, Kazakhstan, etc.

 

 

本次培训为期6天,由西安交大资深教授团队亲临授课,内容涵盖:燃气轮机高温材料力学行为、航空宇航推进系统、智能软材料与软机器、中国对外交流简史、未来天空霸主-无人飞行器、液滴冲击动力学、智能材料力学简介:理论及应用、中国传统文化赏析及中华剪纸体验等内容。

 

This programme lasted for six days. Some of the most experienced teachers from Xi’an Jiaotong University gave lectures on the topics of High-Temperature Mechanical Behavior of Gas turbine, Elements of Aerospace Propulsion System, Soft Active Materials and Soft Machines, China’s Opening: A Historical Review, Ruler of the Future Sky -Unmanned Air Vehicle, Drop Impact Dynamics, A Brief Introduction to the Mechanics of Smart Materials: Theories and Applications, and Appreciation of Chinese Traditional Culture and Experience of Paper-cutting.

 

 

此外,培训基地工作人员于10月9日下午带领学员参观了西安国家民用航天产业基地。该基地是陕西省、西安市政府联合中国航天科技集团公司建设的航天技术产业和国家战略性新兴产业聚集区,也是西安建设国际化大都市的城市功能承载区。学员通过实地走访、实物参观、实景体验,进一步了解航空航天应用知识和中国航空航天技术发展的现状。

 

In addition, on the afternoon of October 9th, under the guidance of the staff, foreign students visited the Xi’an National Civil Aerospace Industry Base. The Aerospace Industry Base is a space technology industry and national gathering area for emerging strategic industry built by Shaanxi Provincial government and Xi’an Municipal Government in conjunction with China Aerospace Science and Technology Group Corporation. The base is also a city function bearing area for the construction of an internationalized metropolis in Xi’an. The trainees gained further understanding about the knowledge of aerospace application and China’s development in aerospace technology through this hands-on field experience.

 

 

目前,IKCEST丝路培训基地已举办60期“丝路工程科技发展专项培训”,共培养了来自100余个国家的5000余名留学生、以及在华外向型企业人员。此次培训是IKCEST丝路培训基地首次在西部科技创新港举办培训,将在培养丝路人才,服务国家“一带一路”倡议方面发挥重要的作用,同时,也为推动文化、科技、教育交流,为丝路沿线和欧亚非地区经济社会发展做出重要贡献。

 

Up till recently, 60 sessions of IKCEST Training Programmes for Silk Road Engineering Science and Technology Development have been held by Silk Road Training Base, training more than 5,000 foreign students from over 100 countries and staff from some export-oriented Chinese Companies. As an important mission of the IKCEST Silk Road Training Base, this training programme plays an important role in cultivating talents and promoting the Belt and Road Initiative. In the Meanwhile, it also made important contributions to the economic and social development of European, Asian and African Belt-road countries and regions.

 

IKCEST是联合国教科文组织下属二类中心,2014年6月在北京成立,依托中国工程院建设,旨在面向世界各国尤其是发展中国家的政策制定者、广大工程科技工作者提供咨询、科研、教育等知识服务。2017年2月,国际知识中心依托西安交通大学,设立“IKCEST丝路培训基地”,为“一带一路”沿线国家培养工程科技人才。

 

The International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology (shortened as “IKCEST”) is a category II centre under the auspices of UNESCO. IKCEST was established on June 2014. The Chinese Academy of Engineering is responsible for the operation and management of the IKCEST. IKCEST aims at providing knowledge-based services at a global scale in the form of consultancies, scientific research and education for policy-makers and engineering science and technology professionals in the world, with particular reference to the developing countries. In February 2017, based in Xi’an Jiaotong University, IKCEST Silk Road Training Base was established, which aims to train more engineering and technological talents for Belt-Road countries.
